Being Harassed by Debt Collectors?

If you want some good information about this, check out our FAQ. If you feel they are violating your rights, report any problems to your state Attorney General's office and the Federal Trade Commission. Many states have their own debt collection laws, and your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights. Call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).

Opt-Out from Credit Bureaus

You may limit prescreened offers for credit & insurance you get based on information in your credit report. Unsolicited prescreened offers from these companies must include a toll-free phone number you can call if you choose to remove your name and address from the lists these offers are based on.

If you want your name and address removed from mailing lists obtained from the main consumer credit reporting agencies -- TransUnion, Experian, Equifax, and Innovis, go to www.optoutprescreen.com, or call 888-5OPTOUT (888-567-8688).
